Caldwell Awarded Contract for New Water Tower in Dover, TN

Bids were awarded for the Dover water system improvements and accepted unanimously at the March Dover Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting.

Of the three bids received for Contract A, which includes the water treatment plant modifications, the bid was awarded to Quinn Construction Co. of Parsons in the base bid amount of $617,000.

Of the three bids received for Contract B, which includes the water booster station modifications, Quinn again received the nod in the base bid amount of $155,000.

Contract C, the 100,000 gallon elevated storage tank, went to Caldwell Tank, Inc., of Louisville, Ky., in the base bid amount of $319,000. Four bids had been received on that contract.

Finally, Contract D for the water storage tank rehabilitation went to Preferred Sandblasting in the base bid amount of $137,675.06. There were five bids received on that contract.

All of those chosen were the low bidders.

According to Buddy Koonce of HKA, Inc., the engineering firm for the town, "We are within the money that the loan set up."

He said that all of the firms were well-recommended.
