US Methanol

Building the Tanks to Complete a Worldwide Relocation

US Methanol

Caldwell has built several Methanol Storage Tanks; and the US Methanol Liberty One remains one of the most interesting projects we’ve tackled to date. US Methanol navigated a substantial relocation, taking a majority of the process equipment from a Methanol Plant in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to just outside Charleson, West Virginia. After successfully relocating, the final plant today holds 200,000 mtpa in production capabilities.

US Methanol needed Caldwell’s services, because they were unable to relocate their Field-Erected Tanks from Rio de Janeiro. Therefore, US Methanol sought out Caldwell’s resources to create the following:

  • Five Carbon Steel Field-Erected Tanks (with a mix of Dome and Column Supported Cone Roofs)
  • One Stainless Steel Field-Erected Tank
  • One Stainless Steel Shop Fabricated Tank
